July Wellness favorites

As my favorite podcast host, Mari Lewellyn says “ We are all in pursuit of wellness and that looks differently for everyone.” Each month I have been trying to add new habits to my daily routine in order to help my overall health. Here are just some of my favorites for this month!

QUEEN OF THRONES: LIVER DETOX and CASTOR OIL PACKS

  • I heard about this castor oil pack through my functional practitioner and started this on July 1st. After having my son, my doctor made it aware to me that I had a fatty liver and needed to take steps to reverse this. I also learned that my body is depleted and tired after carrying a child for 9 months and then going through a traumatic birth, For the first week I wore my liver detox pack every night and the results were instant. Every morning , my liver would do it’s job and detox my body. It may look uncomfortable or messy but trust me it is not! The price is a little steep but the castor oil bottle you receive is huge and can be used for other things. If you struggle with going #2, bloating, or feeling sluggish you should try this!

ANCESTRAL SUPPLEMENTS : STARTER PACK

  • I recently listened to a podcast with the Liver King and then did a deep dive into all things animal organs and such. The information out there on how beef liver and organs give you nutrients that your body could be deficient in is insane, I urge you to read up on it! I began with. the starter pack from Ancestral Supplements at the end of June and have worked myself up. Warning is that it is a lot of pills! Though it does beat eating the actual thing. I have slowly worked up to 3 pills but the recommendation is 6 a day. More info to come.

MAGNESIUM BATHS

  • Shortly after having Asher, my sleep went to the toilet! Constantly waking up even though he was asleep, having insomnia, feeling so tired even though my husband took the baby the night before. I was. a walking anxious zombie! That’s when I heard about magnesium and the benefits it would have to help produce a better sleep for me. I quickly bought a bottle of it through FullScript and started the same night. Sadly, I would have such vivid dreams that I would wake up even more anxious. I felt helpless in my journey to honoring and improving my sleep. I was advised to try a magensium bath which is the recipe as followed:

    1/2 cup Epsom salts
    1/4 cup Himalayan salt
    1/4 baking soda
    1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
